The Newcastle Creative Embroiderers and Textile Artists will be celebrating the opening of their newest Launchpad exhibition Out of the Blue. This will be hosted at Charlestown Library on Thursday June 5th at 10am. This is an opportunity to meet the artists and find out more about what went into creating their works. This is a free event with tea and coffee available - all are welcome.

The exhibition Out of the Blue presents a vibrant exploration of creativity through the mediums of needle, thread, yarn, and fabric, as interpreted by the talented members of NCEATA. Each artist brings a unique perspective to the theme, resulting in a diverse array of works that showcase both hand and machine techniques. About NCEATA

NCEATA (Newcastle Creative Embroiderers and Textile Artists Inc) is a collective founded in 1979 that unites nearly 50 women from the Hunter region. NCEATA fosters a vibrant community of textile artists, ranging from beginners to seasoned professionals, who come together to explore the world of colour, fibres, and innovative techniques in textile art.

With a keen interest in both traditional and contemporary methods, the members of NCEATA specialises in a diverse range of practices including embroidery, machine embellishment, dyeing, wet and dry felting, beading, and fabric painting, among others. The NCEATA artists continue to hone their craft, participating in workshops that expand their expertise and contribute to their artistic growth. Passionate about both fine art and wearable art, NCEATA embraces every opportunity to learn, create, and share their love for textile art with the wider community.
