NDIS access capacity building for Queensland Government employees

PLEASE NOTE: This session is specifically tailored for Queensland Government employees.

Since 2020, the Assessment and Referral Team (ART) has supported over 4,400 at risk Queenslanders with disability to access the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

ART is sharing key learnings from this work to help further build the capacity and capability of the workforce across Queensland Government and non-government agencies to engage in NDIS access related activities.

These capacity building sessions are designed to share insights into NDIS access related processes and requirements and will cover the following topics:

· NDIS application pathways

· Overview of NDIS access criteria, with a key focus on evidencing:

o Intellectual disability

o Autism spectrum disorder

o Psychosocial disability

o Acquired brain injury or traumatic brain injury

o Neurological impairment

o Hearing impairment

o Vision impairment

o Young people with disability

o Comorbidities

· Sourcing supporting evidence

· Significant functional capacity

· Carer impact statement

· NDIS application outcomes.
