About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Join us for a live panel discussion in acknowledgement of the United Nations’ International Day of Persons with Disabilities as we aim to ‘amplify the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future’ on Wednesday 4 December 2024 from 14:0015:00 AEDT.

In this special webinar hosted by NHMRC’s Disability Champion (as part of our Inclusion Network) Dr Julie Glover, you’ll hear from a range of diverse voices from across the disability sector including Professor Jackie Leach Scully, Mr Adam Johnston and Ms Yvonne Parnell.

These nationally and internationally recognised leaders will generously share their stories of lived experiences and consumer advocacy of disability in the health and medical research sector, and advise on how everyone can make an impact in promoting community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements.

As always, there will be an opportuntity to ask questions of our guest speakers with a Q&A session. You don't want to miss our last Speaking of Science webinar for 2024!

Please note if you’re unable to attend, this webinar will be recorded and published to NHMRC’s website.

If you have any questions for the event organisers you can reach us at media@nhmrc.gov.au.
