Join Nikon School Lecturer and professional landscape photographer, Josh Beames, for an immersive 3-hour astrophotography workshop designed to teach you the art of capturing the cosmos. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the basics or an intermediate photographer wanting to refine your skills, this workshop is tailored to help you master the magic of night photography.

Under Josh’s guidance, you’ll learn how to capture stunning star trails, the Milky Way, and learn how to find creative compositions. This hands-on class will cover everything from the best settings for a clean shot, white balance, focus stacking, and other useful tips and tricks when shooting the night sky.

Recommended Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate

• Planning your astrophotography shoot (best times, locations, and conditions)
• Camera settings for capturing stars, Milky Way, and dynamic scenes
• Composition techniques for the night sky
• Focusing in low light

What to Bring:

• Mirrorless or DSLR camera with manual mode
• Wide-angle lens with a fast aperture (f/2.8 or faster recommended)
• Sturdy tripod
• Remote shutter release or intervalometer
• Extra batteries and memory cards
• Headlamp or phone torch
• Warm clothing and gloves (it can get cold up there at night)
• Snacks and a thermos with a hot drink (you'll thank me)
