About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Join Nikon Creators Brooke Maxwell and WIll Eades on a photographic adventure and explore the breathtaking South Coast of Sydney. This hands-on photography class is designed to help you master a range of photographic techniques, from capturing the motion of seascapes to the magic of sunset and glow worm photography - all in one unforgettable evening.

Starting with a seascape session at Coalcliff Beach, Will and Brooke will guide you through creative techniques to capture the raw beauty of the coastline. With the backdrop of crashing waves and dramatic rocky formations, this is the perfect spot to warm up and get your creativity flowing.

For sunset, we’ll head to the iconic Stanwell Tops Lookout, where you’ll capture the stunning views of the southern coastline and the iconic Seacliff Bridge. Learn how to capture a variety of shots from one location, experiment with wide-angle perspectives, and then use your telephoto lenses to zoom in on distant details, quickly adapt to changing light, and explore compositional techniques to frame the perfect shot.

After our sunset session, we’ll venture to the Old Helensburgh Station Tunnel for a truly unique experience of photographing the glow of bioluminescent glow worms. Keeping quiet and our lights down, this section of the class will challenge you to work with low-light conditions. You’ll learn how to utilise long exposures to reduce noise and preserve the natural ambiance of the glow worms with minimal artificial lighting.

Throughout the class, Will and Brooke will provide expert guidance on camera settings, composition, and techniques suited to each environment, ensuring you leave with new skills and beautiful images.
