No Worries Writing Workshops: Stories from Bayside, with Kavita Bedford

Youth Workshop 16 - 24 years


Stories from Bayside workshop includes a discussion about the craft of writing,

developing a creative practice and some of the steps to becoming a writer.

This will be followed by a onehour workshop, writing about place and memory.


We will draw from young Australian writers and look at literary techniques and how to use your personal experiences to help you create a strong sense of place in your stories.


Kavita Bedford is an Australian-Indian writer. Her first novel, Friends & Dark Shapes,

was published in 2021 in USA, Australia and Italy and was Shortlisted in the QLD Literary Awards for Fiction, NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and Small Press Network Book of the Year Award. Her writing has appeared in publications including Guernica, The Guardian, Literary Hub and she was a Churchill Fellow exploring comparative migrant narratives.

This workshop will be hosted in Eastgardens Library.

Bus services that operate from the lower level bus stop will depart from Bunnerong Road opposite Westfield Eastgardens.
