About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Blackburn Creeklands Reserves are popular with bike riders, people walking their dogs and children enjoying the paths and grassy areas. A wide variety of birdlife can be seen here during the day, after dark however, this place doesn't go to sleep. There is more than the occasional rustle in the leaves. Tawny Frogmouths, bats, Krefft's gliders, brushtail possums, ringtail possums are some of the park occupants that come out at night.

Join us in this Nocturnal Possum Prowl to observe these creatures in their natural habitat. Bring along a red-light torch if you can or a regular torch covered with red cellophane. Don't forget to wear appropriate clothing and footwear and spray some insect repellent. Please keep in mind that the place doesn't have any drinking water or toilet facilities.

Meet at the Scout Hall on Pakenham St (Blackburn) at 5:30pm. Children are welcome but should be accompanied by an adult.

*This is a free event but registration is required.
