Nocturne weaves together four distinct performances that delve into themes of mystery, power, and transformation. From the collective strength of Uprising and the seductive allure of Venom & Velvet, to the chilling narratives of Trilogy and the whimsical adventure of New World, this show promises an unforgettable evening of dance and creativity.
New World by Pre-Professional Musical Theatre (20 min)
Directed by Andrew Hallsworth and choreographed by Carter Rickard, New World takes the audience on a futuristic adventure as a group of explorers searches for a new planet to call home. Set to contemporary musical theatre songs and music by Jon Batiste, this vibrant and energetic piece offers a fresh and creative take on space exploration.
Trilogy by Pre-Professional Contemporary (30 min)
Choreographed by Jayden Hicks, Trilogy delves into the world of horror through three captivating acts, each exploring a different aspect of the genre. Eerie and thrilling, this performance will transport audiences through unsettling tales brought to life through movement.
Uprising by High School Academy (20 min)
Uprising, choreographed by Adrian Ricks, explores the tension between conformity and individuality. Beginning with military precision and collective strength, the piece evolves as dancers break free, expressing personal empowerment through a fusion of contemporary, jazz, and commercial dance.
Venom & Velvet by Pre-Professional Performing Arts (30 min)
Choreographed by Kim Adam, Venom & Velvet is a bold and electrifying reimagining of the Medusa myth. Set to the music of Kylie Minogue, this high-energy performance captures the allure and power of Medusa through mesmerising movement.
