Inspired by her mesmerising works in New Light: Photography Now + Then, join artist and photographer Marian Drew for a hands-on workshop dedicated to harnessing the power of light in your photographs.


Explore the art of creating striking still life compositions using found objects, mirrors, and flowers, as Marian guides you through techniques of manipulating light to create high impact images with your digital camera.


The workshop is appropriate for beginners and experienced photographers.

Suitable for ages 18+


What to expect:

  • 2 hour long workshop led by artist Marian Drew
  • Hands-on tips and tricks for composition and lighting
  • Artist-led tour of New Light: Photography Now + Then

Digital camera (must have manual option) and tripod

About Marian Drew:

Marian Drew lives in Brisbane Australia and is a PhD candidate at the Canberra School of Art and Design, Australian National University. Her artwork is held in collections that include the John Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles, Museum of Photographic Art, San Diego, Fonds National D’Art Contemporain (FNAC), Paris, France, National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of South Australia Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Victorian National Gallery. Monash Gallery of Art, and Queensland University Art Museum.
