Certificate III & Certificate IV in Screen and Media (Full Time)
Certificate III in Screen and Media Focuses on Podcasting & Mojo (Virtual Delivery)
This course offers students the skills to plan, prepare and publish a range of media, in particular in the areas of podcasting, mobile journalism, and social media. These essential skills will help you launch your career as a content creator, journalist, audio storyteller and more. Gain a versatile toolkit and kickstart your journey in the vibrant world of media.
Certificate IV Screen and Media focused on Radio & Podcasting (on Campus)
This course introduces students to the foundations of producing and broadcasting radio shows and podcasts. Students will learn how to write for radio, research for segment topics, copyright, programming for radio, scripting for podcasts, and producing podcast shows. They will also learn the technical skills of production, recording, and editing audio to broadcast quality. Students of this stream will have the opportunity to broadcast live and produce podcast shows for our station, TAFE Radio.
Certificate IV Screen and Media focused on Journalism (on Campus)
This course introduces students to the foundations of good journalism and media production: writing, research, interviewing, mobile journalism and ethics. You have the opportunity to publish work on our student news WordPress site.
Certificate IV Screen and Media focused on Social Media (on Campus)
This course gives students skills in making and publishing content for online and social media platforms, it also covers how to develop strategies for engaging audiences. You will learn how to plan, create and publish a range of social media content including videos, audio stories, carousels, blog posts and more through collaboration with the radio and journalism students.
Certificate IV in Screen and Media (Part-Time)
We offer a range of courses and delivery modes. Our Certificate IV Part-time evening is ideal for those wanting a face-to-face learning experience but need the flexibility of studying at night or online. This version of the course runs over 3 nights per week for a 12-month period.
Certificate IV Screen and Media focused on Radio & Journalism Part-Time Evening (On Campus)
This course will give students skills in radio and podcast producing and writing for journalism. Students will learn how to write, plan, record, produce, and present their own creative digital audio content with confidence. They will program for radio and podcasts and gain technical skills in production, recording, and editing audio. Students will be broadcasting live and produce podcasts for our online radio station, TAFE Radio. They will also study writing, researching, and interviewing for our WordPress news site.
Diplomas of Screen and Media (Full Time)
This course is an intermediate, practical course and will build on skills learned from the Certificates III and IV Screen and Media course. Students will learn advanced interviewing skills, video and audio journalism, and multimedia storytelling. Teachers and mentors will assist and encourage learners to create portfolios and apply for employment or internship positions within the media industry.
Students will have the opportunity to take leadership roles in hosting and running our campus radio station, managing our associated social media platforms and publishing content to our news website.

Diploma of Screen & Media (Radio and Podcasting)
In this stream, students will continue to learn every aspect of radio production and presentation. They will be expected to write scripts for radio and podcasting, demonstrate knowledge of proper broadcasting techniques, construct radio shows including writing run sheets, operate radio and podcasting panels, copyright, and ethics. Students of this stream will have the opportunity to broadcast live and produce podcast shows for our campus station.
Diploma of Screen & Media (Journalism)
In this stream, students will work on extending and polishing their writing and proofreading skills. They will be expected to perform comprehensive research on story topics, extensively interview subjects, understand copyright, collaborate with fellow students, and work ethically. Works produced by students have the opportunity to be published on our student news website.
Diploma of Screen & Media (Social Media)
In this stream, students will develop strategies for managing online communities and engaging audiences. They will learn how to write engaging captions for social media posts, research trends, optimise the use of hashtags, create content, collaborate with fellow students, schedule content, copyright and ethics. They will have the opportunity to publish their work on various social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Spotify.
Advanced Diplomas of Screen and Media (Full Time)
Advanced Diploma Screen and Media
This course is intermediate to advanced level, building on the skills acquired from the Diploma course.
In the Advanced Diploma, students will focus on various aspects of innovation in the media with a specific focus on radio, journalism, and digital media. Students will analyse media industry practices and using that information design, develop, and implement an innovative media project. They will further hone their storytelling techniques for a variety of platforms, including radio, online, audio, video, and multimedia production. Students will have to develop one or more major pieces for their portfolio and opportunities exist for taking leadership roles in the student radio station, TAFE Radio, and online news site and social media platforms.
