About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours

As therapists, we aim to help our clients maintain or improve body structures and function, increase activity and participation levels, and promote quality of life. Supporting symmetrical and advantageous posture in lying, sitting and standing is a part of this core work, but how do we attain this impressive postural management programme?

It starts with a thorough ASSESSMENT.

For most clients, the Mechanical Assessment Tool (MAT) is what provides us with the most comprehensive level of information about our client’s postural needs – not only in sitting but also in lying and standing. This hands-on workshop is designed to boost your confidence in using MAT for detailed assessments and to provide practical insights for applying these findings to 24-hour postural management programmes.

KEY LEARNING AREAS

  • Explore key considerations, current research, and best practice guidelines for the use of MAT for sitting, standing and lying support needs.
  • Provide an immersive, hands-on session to refine your assessment skills.
  • Explore possible equipment choices to support your postural management programmes.
  • Discuss how to use your findings to guide the development of postural management programmes across the full 24-hour day.

Please bring along a yoga mat.

Certificates and CPD points will be provided. Morning tea and lunch will be served.
