Description

The Prevention Centre is hosting visiting public health expert, Professor Sandro Galea, one of America's leading voices in health and society. Professor Sandro Galea is an author, epidemiologist, physician and Dean of the Boston University School of Public Health.

Hate as a public health issue

The objective of the session is to create a more critically reflective conversation about hate and how to redress it in our society.

Our speakers are Professor Galea and Professor Katharine Gelber a political scientist and expert in hate speech from University of Queensland. Our Discussant is Professor Tim Soutphommasane, political scientist, social theorist, and former Race Discrimination Commissioner for Australia.

The session will be followed by an afternoon tea from 4 to 5 pm.
