Escalating numbers of feral rabbits pose significant threats to agriculture and the environment in the Hills and Fleurieu region.
We open this event to members of our community willing to commit to safe, responsible and effective baiting of rabbits. This event makes discounted pindone carrot baits available to qualified* members of the community. At this event we are also offering K5 Calicivirus treated carrots.
Pindone carrots
1. Complete the mandatory online training module – Safe and successful use of Pindone for rabbit management. If you have already completed the training go to step 2.
2. Register your attendance at our distribution day.
a. Your property must be over 1000m2.
b. Record the property where baiting will occur.
c. Select number of bags to collect, capped at three 3kg bags of carrot bait.
3. Attend the distribution day to pick up your carrots. Bring a bucket, tub or plastic bags to collect your carrot bait.

*The online training is mandatory for anyone wishing to access baits from Landscapes Hills and Fleurieu. Course completion records will be checked by our staff at the event: no training = no bait.
RHDV K5 Calcivirus carrots
1. Recommend completing the online training module to understand best baiting practices – Safe and successful use of Pindone for rabbit management. If you have already completed the training go to step 2.
2. Register your attendance at our distribution day. Due to high demand we have capped the number of bags available to purchase to one. If you have a large property with multiple separate rabbit populations please contact your local Stewardship Officer on 8391 7500.
3. Attend the distribution day to pick up your carrots. Bring a bucket, tub or plastic bag to collect your K5 carrot bait.
Cost: K5 Calicvirus treated carrots $25/1kg bag
Please note: K5 Calicivirus carrots MUST be laid out on the day of pick-up – they CANNOT be frozen.

If the fire ban rating is forecast to be Extreme or Catastrophic on the day of the event, it will be cancelled. All registered participants will be notified if the event is cancelled. Thank you for your understanding.
