‘Real / Imagined’ is a celebration of Australian landscapes, both real and imagined. Artists Sarah Eve and Vic Bullo have created unique interpretations of the land. Eve draws inspiration from her travels through the natural landscape, capturing the feeling of being immersed in these environments. She honours the land with vibrant colours, infusing her Abstract Realism style with a sense of whimsy and magic. Bullo’s imagined landscapes take on a life of their own through his intuitive painting technique, evoking serenity and the vast beauty of nature. His works often reflect a Romanticist viewpoint, celebrating the tranquil majesty of the land.
Landscapes hold deep significance for people, evoking personal memories, experiences, and feelings of home. They can also embody wisdom and the stories of the land. This collection of works invites viewers to admire the beauty of nature while encouraging a sense of connection, awe, and peace within the landscape. Through these artworks, the exhibition celebrates the beauty of landscapes, their history, and the deep significance they hold for people, offering an opportunity for viewers to reflect on their own travels and personal connections to the land.
