Description

Brisbane City Council is committed to keeping Brisbane clean, green and sustanable. Meet like-minded volunteers as we celebrate our achievments in protecting and restoring Brisbane's biodiversity.

Join us for a fun and informative morning featuring local band Leopold’s Treat, a guided tour of Tennis Avenue Park and Corbie Park bushcare sites and enjoy a range of presentations on the various aspects of restoration work.

Event schedule

  • 8-8.30am - Registration
  • 8.30-9.30am – Breakfast served and band plays (Leopold’s Treat)
  • 9.30-9.45am - Welcome and acknowledgement
  • 9.45-10.05am - ‘The Value of Ecosystem Services in Restoration’ by Valerie Hagger
  • 10.20-midday - Presentations and guided tours

About our keynote speaker – Valerie Hagger

Valerie is an experienced terrestrial ecologist with 12 years ecological and environmental consulting experience for a range of industries including government, defence, mining, transport, water, energy and communication. Valerie Hagger is a current PhD candidate for the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science at the University of Queensland.
