Bring your bikes to Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre for a fun-filled family bike event designed for all ages! Let's burn some energy and not carbon this coming spring by building some confidence to get on our bikes more often!
Get your bikes checked out by our expert repairman Dan the Bike Man, who will be on hand to fix any issues and answer your bike maintenance questions. Learn essential bike safety skills and keep the kids busy on a course set up by CycleSense = Excellence, ensuring everyone is ride-ready. The day wraps up with a group ride, perfect for practicing new skills and enjoying a safe, guided adventure through the beautiful Piney Lakes Reserve together.
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just getting started, this event is the perfect way to ensure your family rides with confidence!
What to expect
Length
~1.5 hour of bike maintenance and obstacle course, finishing with optional ~30 minute group ride.
Start time
Event activities will start on time, but if you are running late, you may still join.
Location
Outside on the round-a-bout area infront of Centre gate.
Requirements
Comfortable clothing, bike, water bottle and sunscreen.

Workshop will be outside with limited seating, group ride is optional and all on hard surface paths.
Disabled parking is available at front of Centre, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. For specific access requirements please feel free to call or email the centre at (08)9364 0191 or piney.lakes@melville.wa.gov.au
Directions to centre
Please consider using public transportation. A bus stop, just a 2-minute walk away, is conveniently located near the Centre and services multiple routes.
The Centre is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in the Piney Lakes reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Hwy across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark.
