Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between First Nations and non-First Nations peoples, for the benefit of all people within our Communities.

MEANINGFUL CHANGE REQUIRES ACTION

All community members are encouraged to come together on Sunday 1st June, at Riddles Oval (skate park) @ 8am for a 9am start, as we Run together with purpose, demonstrating our commitment to reconciliation, cohesion, and the collective well-being of our cross-border communities.

We will start the event with a welcome to country (Gomeroi), smoking cleansing/ceremony, and traditional interactive Song and dance that unites us together as one, before we hit the pavement and get moving along the beautiful river loop course.

You can register to complete the following:

  • 5km walk / jog / run (All ages; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times)

After the 5km course has completed, our guest speakers will share a few interactive traditional stories with you all. These stories aim to empower you to make better choices in life especially when you are faced with any daily challenges, what reconciliation means to them and more importantly, how we learn from each experience. Lets use the hidden messages embedded within these stories to empower ourselves from the inside out.

Everyone is encouraged to reflect on what reconciliation means to them at the art station and connect with others in a positive way, whilst enjoying a BBQ bacon and eggs brunch and traditional bush tea or for you coffee lovers a nice brew!

In line with this years National Reconciliation Week theme, you are all encouraged to wear red, yellow or green in support of such an important message, and your commitment to our individual and collective wellbeing.

Lets.....Lace up your runners and be part of a powerful movement! The Run for Reconciliation is back — a free community fun run that brings us together to promote reconciliation, healing, and wellbeing for all.

This isn’t just a run — it’s a step forward.

For First Nations people, it's a space to celebrate culture, honour history, and reclaim wellness.

For non-First Nations people, it’s a chance to walk alongside, learn, and show support with meaningful action.

Together, we move forward — one step, one story, one stride at a time.

When we understand eachother, We are stronger together.
