We’re excited to welcome award-winning author and sustainability advocate Rebecca Sullivan to the Burton Community Hub for our latest Salisbury Author Series event this November!
Rebecca will discuss her ten books covering topics of sustainability, cooking, and self-sufficiency. She’ll explore how living frugally—like our grandparents—doesn’t mean being stingy, but rather being resourceful and resilient. Discover practical ways to embrace sustainability in your daily life, from thoughtful home practices to creating more eco-friendly outdoor spaces.
Purchase popular titles on the day and have them signed by Rebecca herself. Light refreshments will be provided.
Author bio:
Rebecca is a sustainable living advocate and self-taught cook and has worked with some of the world’s best food producers, academics, activists, and chefs. An author, food curator, consultant, TV presenter, activist, author, regenerative farmer and social entrepreneur, she has worked on projects any food lover would envy, from launching the Real Food Festival in London to being Taste Curator on Slow Food Nation in San Francisco.
Rebecca’s obsession with food began in Italy, so it followed course that she would become interested in the Slow Food Movement in which she spent years being both Youth Ambassador in the UK organising events, campaigns and of course eating. Today she has organised global and local events focussed on sustainability and food.
After a decade working overseas, she has re-settled back in Australia and has launched The Granny Skills Movement – a community-supported movement that aims to protect the skills, heritage and traditions of our elders.
