    Learn the art of electronic soldering while constructing unique and practical electronic devices. Increase your confidence and experience in this whole-day masterclass. Taking on progressively more challenging kits, learn practical problem-solving and apply your artistic flair to personalise your gadgets. You will take home your working kits, plus your own soldering station equipment!

    During this workshop participants will:

    • Learn the safe use of soldering irons.
    • Develop an understanding of electrical circuits.
    • Modify electronic devices to suit creative ideas.

    This workshop is suitable for young people who are interested in electronics and soldering.

    About the facilitator

    Children's Discovery create opportunities for life-long learning experiences. Their work is backed by research showing how early interventions that spark imagination build children’s confidence, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

    About the Event:

    Cost: $25 to cover materials. . At the end of the workshop participants will receive their own soldering set to take home

    Age: 12-17

    Experience: No prior experience necessary.

    Materials: Equipment and materials will be provided

    Spaces are limited so bookings are essential.

    Disclaimer: Soldering irons will be used during the workshops, so age limits will be strictly adhered to. If children under the age of 12 are booked into this program, tickets will be cancelled and refunded at the discretion of library staff.

    Terms and conditions:

    • Participants under 16 must be signed in and out of the program by an adult. They will not be permitted to leave the library at the end of the program until they have been signed out.
    • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.
    • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
