Our Workshop is back for May 2025! Sing2Camera©. . .

This workshop is only available to performers aged 10 to 17.

Are you learning to sing, or are you an experienced performer? Are you looking to join a band, or have you started singing or drama at school, auditioning online or gigging at parties and events?

At some point, you will need to learn skills to make a video demo, or maybe you are wanting to new examples of your style and repertoire?

The skills a vocalist requires to make a studio video demo, are very different from the skills required for live perfomances.

Come and join this 4 hour workshop, where you will not only learn valuable singing or acting to camera skills, technique and knowledge, but you will record a live vocal Demo..

JRS Sing2Camera© will be held at Cockburn Youth Centre - Music Room.

WHAT'S INVOLVED IN THE WORKSHOP?

Leading industry professionals, Joseph Galea and Jenelle Russo will lead you through this workshop which offers tips and skills for performing in front of the camera, including an introduction to studio sound, lighting and recording techniques. The 4 hour workshop will be fun and confidence building, and will cater for all ability levels. JRS staff members will be on site to ensure each singer is ready and feeling confident before the live recording takes place.

The second half of the workshop will involve rehearsing and refining performances before the live, film recording. This session includes the refining and recording of ONE SONG. Jenelle is going to teach the group a hook of a song throughout the session and this will be recorded as a group! The workshop is packed with positivity and performance experience.

Following the workshop, Joseph will edit and prepare your video. Upon completion of rendering, you will be privately sent the final product! Depending on the number of workshop participants, this may take some weeks - we will contact you when they are ready.

Please note, for "first time" participants and less experienced performers, we will aim to produce a 90 second Demo. This is an ideal length for Social Media uploads such as Instagram, auditions, or simply to share with loved ones!!

PARTICIPANTS

• If you have previously participated in JRS Sing2Camera©, you are going to love thisyears Sing2Camera experience! You will have less nerves this time and can really build on your studio performance skills.
• Already a JRS Student? Great, we can work on your song choice during lesson time.
• Not a JRS Student? No problems at all! Simply enrol, then email your MP3 Backing Track to info@jenellerussostudio.com.au by May 12th! This workshop will benefit everyone who attends.
• Filming will be in a Demo Style - singing directly to the Camera with a neutral background. This is perfect for those online auditions and demo uploads.

HOW TO ENROL

Simply click "Buy Tickets" and fill out all of the required fields. This will involve the following:

1. Choose Your Song/Monologue - this is the piece you will perform in front of the Camera. Choose a song you know the lyrics to, and one you love

2. Will you be singing solo, in a duo, trio or group?

3. Email your MP3 Backing Track - to info@jenellerussostudio.com.au as soon as your enrolment is complete.

NB:

• If you are already a JRS student, we may already have your backing - please check with your teacher
• If you plan to bring your own instrument, please indicate this when completing you enrolment

If you can't decide on a song or your music has not been submitted by May 12th, you can choose one of the following backing tracks below which we will have ready on the day for you to choose from. Lyrics sheets will also be available:

WHAT TO BRING?

Please pack water and healthy snacks that respect those with allergies.

Any costumes or props you wish to include in your video.

Make up for touch ups.

HOW TO PREPARE?

We reccommend: You KNOW your lyrics/lines! Print them off and read them each day.

Please bring lyrics with you on the day.

The best preparation you can make is by practicing your song/script at home. The more prepared you are, the more enjoyable the filming will be. Often, the first take is the best one!

WHAT TO WEAR?

It is preferable to come dressed in the outfit you are wearing for your recording. Think about your image as an artist, and put the effort in to show your personality.

Please note- there will a changeroom area available if this is preferred!

Tip: Block Colours look best on Camera - not stripes or patterns.

CAN PARENTS STAY?

No. All of our staff are qualified teachers and all have WWCC. They are excellent with assisting singers who are nervous and emotional.

Please drop off and check in your child from 2.45pm, and collect them from a JRS staff member at 7pm.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Tickets for this event are non -refundable and non-transferrable.

The event is held on one day only, and tickets can only be used for that allocated date. The event organiser holds no responsibility If ticket holder does not attend their allocated date.

In the event that a participant has tested positive to Covid 19 and is in Isolation at the time of the event, a 50% refund will be offered upon proof of Covid Positive test.

In the event that Sing2Camera© is cancelled by the event organiser due to an unforeseen circumstance, tickets will be refunded in full through Eventbrite.

"I am not a JRS Student. Can I still participate in Sing To Camera?" Everyone is welcome to enrol in this workshop.

Can I record more than one song? This workshop includes only ONE SONG. If you want to do more, please contact organisers upon purchase of your ticket so an add on price can be added.

"Are you a professional musician/group?" Please contact organisers - info@jenellerussostudio.com.au for details to arrange another Demo time. This workshop is not suitable for professionals.

"Can I accompany myself on my own instrument?" Yes you can. Please contact event organisers on info@jenellerussostudio.com.au to discuss yur instrument and further sound requirements.

"Can i sing a duo, trio or in a group?" Yes you can, but each participant must purchse a ticket.
