So you Want to...Finess your own query letter?

With Jo Stapley

Costs: $25 members, $40 non-members. Online booking fees also apply. To avoid paying fees, please phone KSP directly to book and pay by debit/ credit card: 9294 1872.

This workshop is brought to you by the KSP Writers' Centre with support from the Shire of Mundaring. Tea and coffee provided.

Have you ever wondered about the “secret sauce” that goes into pitch letters? Getting the attention of publishers or agents is a fine art, and this workshop will teach you how to finesse your own query letter. We’ll assess real-world examples, to see what works and why. Participants will leave with a plan for how to craft their own pitch letter to best market their own story!

Target audience: This workshop is for fiction writers of all ages and genres.

About the facilitator:

Jo Stapley has been a Business Storyteller in three continents, but always called Perth home. Like her characters, Jo believes that stories can spark personal transformations. While her two young children sleep, she writes contemporary fiction with quirky characters that bring dry humour to darker themes

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is a bus stop directly outside the Centre on Old York Road. The Centre is located on a residential street and looks like any other house: look for the 'Katharine’s Place' wooden plaque sign and bright green letterbox out front. Parking is available in the brick driveway and in front of the hedge, also on the upper gravel level (to the right of the house) and along the street. Overflow parking can be found down the gravel driveway to the immediate left of the house (look for the No Thoroughfare sign); please drive down here slowly.
