About this event

Join permaculture and sustainability educator, Anna The Urban Nanna, for a hands-on presentation-workshop where you’ll learn about frugal, waste-savvy ways to access healthy soil, plants, seeds, fertiliser and mulch. Then have a go at making some upcycled items to use around the garden.

With the cost-of-living crisis continuing and supermarket prices increasing weekly, it’s become more important than ever to consider alternatives to buying fresh produce. It’s often been joked that growing your own tomatoes is the best way to spend 6 months and a week’s wages to harvest $2.27 worth of produce, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Whether you’ve got a ‘green thumb’ or a ‘brown thumb’, this presentation & workshop is designed to help you see gardening through a new lens: one where it’s possible to obtain a yield while producing no waste and saving money in the process.

This event is suitable for the whole family. Children under 12 years old need to be accompanied by an adult.

Frankston City Libraries is proud to be able to provide workshops, information sessions and events FREE of charge to the community.
