About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Between 1945 and 1977 a vast fleet of ships transported migrants to Australia, the ships were as varied as the nationalities of the people making the move to the land down under. This talk will look at some of the ships involved including among others, the giant Australis, the ferry sized Rena and Komninos, the war-weary Georgic & New Australia through to the USS General Taylor - a ship that would go on to become a movie star. And many more!
Join author and ship enthusiast Phil Massaad as we uncover the fascinating histories of each ship as well as recount what it was like to travel onboard.
