Welcome to SpringCon ‘24 event page!Join us for a huge celebration of tabletop gaming with our amazing community, playing games whilst supporting our local community.

Entry into the event is free, thanks to support from Ipswich City Council. We have a range of activities and traders for you:

Board Game Zone

Our board game zone is a casual area for you to bring your own or borrow games from our club board game library. A great way to meet other like minded folk. We will also have local game designers along looking for people to playtest their latest works.

Card Games

Alongside board games will be space for card games: Magic: the Gathering, Pokemon etc. We will have some M:tG commander decks available and learn to play sets.

Demo and free games

Food Stalls

SpringCon ‘24 will have a range of hot foods available in our eating area with some undercover seating.

Bring ‘n’ Buy

Bring along pre-loved games and clear some shelf space or pick up a bargain new game or three! To make sure it runs smoothly, please be aware:

  • Dropoff from 9am.
  • Sales start at 9.30am.
  • More than 5 items, must have a pre filled seller form
  • Every item will be checked in by volunteers at the Bring n Buy
  • 10% of all sales go towards our gaming club.
  • Payouts will be bank transfer

    Over the past 2 years of running SpringCon, its really become the highlight of Greater Springfield Gamers calendar and shows what an amazing community of gamers we have around Ipswich and Brisbane.

Miniature games

Thanks to our Tournament Organiser (TO’s) volunteers, we offer six (6) different wargame events covering historical, science fiction and fantasy genres. Tickets must be pre-purchased and space is limited.

All entrants are able to walk around and admire the beautiful paintwork and stunning terrain of these games, but be mindful of bags and please do not touch the miniatures or terrain without permission of the owner.

Roleplaying

Roleplaying, games of the imagination. We have 9 different sessions of many different games available for you to choose from. Search for either AM () or PM (1.30 - 4.30pm) session in the ticketing and look for your game.

If you're roleplaying curious, or looking at different systems, this is the perfect opportunity to try out new games. Roleplaying is a game for the imagination, like being a character in a book. The narrator, or Dungeon Master, describes a situation and the players have to decide as a group what actions to take.

Hobby Tutorials

Thanks to Brisbane Displayer Painter's Guild and Corrupted Quill, SpringCon is able to offer 2 incredible activity workshops:


  • Terrain making tutorial

Corrupted Qill, Erin, is a commission terrain builder with years of experience building incredible custom terrain for diaramas and gaming tables. She will show you the dark art of using various materials and turning them into trees and forests in a 4hr session running 11-4pm, everything provided. Just bring a box or a tray to carry your new trees home as the glue may not be completely dry.


  • Bust painting tutorial

Join Brisbane Display Painters Guild and learn the art of bust painting! 6 hours of guided painting sessions with a high quality 3d printed bust to take home. Entrants can chose to either have all equipment provided, or bring your own equipment.

If choosing to bring your own, please bring the following equipment.

  • 9 paints ( Warm and Cool primaries - red, blue, yellow - plus a black, white and brown)
  • 2 Synthetic brushes, Size 0 and 2 Paper towel as needed
  • wet palette
