Frequently asked questions

Do I need to prepare anything for the course?

We will provide you with all course materials including a booklet, a pen, and all of the joke-writing material. There is no need to bring anything other than perhaps a bottle of water.

Is stand-up comedy hard?

It's very easy if you know how to structure a joke and the techniques used to generate laughter. We will teach you all of this. And you'll be writing your first jokes within minutes of our course.

Do I need to perform in front of others?

In each session we will practice some mic work in front of the class. This is to help class participants gain new skills and confidence. Sometimes people don't want to speak in front of the class and that's entirely fine with us and the other class members!

I'm a bit nervous. What would you say to nervous people?

Our classes are very supportive. People generally go together to our stand-up comedy show on Tuesdays after class and stay in touch with each other. We prioritise good vibes and ensuring everyone is comfortable.

What are the benefits of learning comedy?

There are soooooo many reasons to do this course. You'll learn more about yourself, grow in confidence, wow others with your jokes and much more. It's a great skill to have and this course is extremely practical, so you will get a lot out of it that will help you at work and socially.
