About this event

STEP NSW Branch invites you to our next Lunch & Learn online presentation by Mark Streeter TEP on the topic of "What could Britney Spears do if she was in NSW?".

On 2 March 2021, Channel 9 aired a documentary “Framing Britney Spears”. It generated a lot of discussion and commentary and has support from the #freebritney movement.

The American concept of ‘Conservatorship’ has parallels with the Australian and more particularly the NSW concepts of Financial Managers and Guardians. Without delving too deeply into the Californian Probate Code, this presentation will illustrate, compare and contrast the NSW equivalents and answer some questions like:

  • Can a person be appointed a private Financial Manager for remuneration in NSW?
  • Could the subject person change Financial Managers if the relationship had broken down?
  • How does a person terminate a Financial Manager order?

We live in a dynamic world where many of our clients (or their children) have seasons of incapacity due to mental illness or drug related conditions. The questions raised may be more relevant than you think!

EVENT DETAILS:

DATE:   Wednesday 12th May 2021

TIME:   12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

COST:   $25 STEP Members, $35 Non-Members

This presentation will be delivered as a webinar via Zoom. The link to join the live-stream will be sent to each ticket holder via email on the day of this event.
