The State Library Stories from the Stacks comes to Onkaparinga! The Stories From The Stacks series of talks will fascinate and surprise you with intriguing glimpses into South Australian history drawn from some of the more obscure parts of the State Library archives.
About Stories from the Stacks: Migrant Family Stories Between Wars
Hear stories of strength, resilience and longevity of a group of migrants from the Italian region of Veneto who settled in the western suburbs of Adelaide between 1926 to 1928 and established successful market gardens.
We will watch a recording of the talk orginally presented by Madeleine Regan, Oral Historian at the State Library South Australia on 20 February 2024. Madeleine will draw on stories from her collection of 65 oral histories in the State Library that she has collected over 16 years.
