About this event

Join us for a day of reading, walking and connecting with nature by going on a StoryWalk®!

StoryWalk® promotes early literacy, physical activity, and family time together in nature. It’s a fun and educational family activity. Take a stroll and enjoy successive pages from "Footprint" by Phil Cummings along your path.

Get started with a group walk through the wetlands lead by one of our wonderful staff who will be reading “Footprint” by Phil Cummings aloud as the group progresses along the trail.

After the walk, head back over to the Burton Community Hub for a fun class!

10am session: The Australian Worm Firm will teach you how to take care of nature with a wiggly worms workshop.
2pm session: Rene will guide you through a children's yoga practice as you learn to focus on your breath and "breathe" like in "Footprint".

Please meet our staff member just behind the carpark at the Kaurna Wetlands for your session time.

Each child attending needs a ticket, parents don't need their own tickets but are required to attend the sessions to supervise their children.

After our opening day pop into the Burton Community Hub, collect your map and then go for a self-guided StoryWalk® and watch the story unfold at your own pace.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier Vermont. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
