About the exhibitions:

Eclipsed Presence

Traditional crafts are vanishing in today's industrialised world. Acclaimed artist, Cyrus Tang recently spent time on residency in Morocco, learning from local Indigenous makers. This new installation explores how their crafts are being kept alive.

Selling Sunset

Selling Sunset is an exhibition by multidisciplinary artist, Natalie Thomas. It is made in response to the work and legacy of feminist artist and educator, Erica McGilchrist OAM (1926-2014). Creating 'renovations' of McGilchrist's work, Natalie examines the trend of unearthing, restoring and elevating under-represented artists.

At The First Flood of Daylight

At The First Flood of Daylight sees ceramic artist, Ara Dolatian (born in Iran, based in Melbourne) examine the ancient Epic of Gilgamesh. The exhibition responds to the queer and feminist interpretations of the Epic and asserts sexual difference and gender multiplicity as a pathway to finding deeper human connections.

Ara Dolatian was awarded the 2024 Bundoora Homestead Art Prize Award at the Midsumma and Australia Post Art Award.
