Accessible beach days are back this summer
Glenelg Beach will host a series of accessible beach days in the coming months,
This event is a collaboration between estara and the City of Holdfast Bay.
These beach days and will provide 50 metres of beach matting from the foreshore to the water, to provide access for wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties.
Accessible Beach Day events allow wheelchair users and people with mobility needs the opportunity to access the beach safely. Beach matting will be laid out on the sand, providing access across to the water's edge. Shade will also be erected by the City of Holdfast Bay on the sand.
Beach wheelchairs including the Mobi-Chair® and Sandcruiser® are available for bookings.
The Sandcruiser chair is not designed to be submerged in the water. If you wish to access the water, please book the Mobichair.
Council volunteers, estara volunteers & Lifetime Support Authority volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to provide support.
