Ghanem Group executive Chef Jake Nicolson is coming to Lagoon House Restaurant and he’s bringing the groups newest addition, Lúc Lắc, with him.
Lúc Lắc, is Vietnamese inspired, evocative of Thailand, and leans gently into the melting pot of flavours from Singapore, taking the best of those worlds and combining them into something fresh and super-exciting. Much like Lagoon House Restaurant, Lúc Lắc places a distinct focus on showcasing premium Australian ingredients and unique, tropical Queensland produce.
The spectacular new restaurant, opened in October 2024 in Brisbane’s Queen’s Wharf, has already been lauded for its bold, uncompromising flavors, “tropical-chic” aesthetic and unmissable cocktail list.
Jake is joined by Penny Grant of Shaw + Smith, who will pair the iconic Australian label’s finest drops with the exciting takeover menu.
At this fabulous al fresco culinary event, attendees can expect:

About Jake Nicolson
Ghanem Group Executive Chef Jake Nicolson has built a successful career at outstanding international and Australian restaurants, and has overseen the culinary expansion of the Group’s portfolio for over a decade, including its most recent restaurant Lúc Lắc at The Star Brisbane. Under Jake’s purview, Ghanem Group is also the team behind distinguished eateries such as Blackbird, Byblos, Donna Chang, Iris and the Boom Boom Room.
With a talent and passion for sourcing outstanding premium produce, Jake works with the finest producers across Australia and New Zealand. Lúc Lắc is a shining example of this; the Vietnamese and Thai inspired menu features the likes of Fraser Isle Spanner Crab, King River Wagyu, and Speckled Blue Grouper from Queensland; periwinkles, and Meredith Dairy from Victoria; Skull Island Prawns from the Northern Territory; and Ora King Salmon from New Zealand.
“My role is very much about connecting with those producers, who are in some ways unearthed and bringing them to our restaurants, and to Brisbane more broadly, so everyone can experience their exceptional produce and all the things they catch, grow, cultivate and produce,” Jake says.
