This Easter, for one day only, bring your child and their favourite teddy for a check-up at the Teddy Bear Hospital!

Teddies will journey through our hospital and be attended to by our team of amazing teddy doctors, nurses and allied health specialists! From teddy check-ups, teddy ECGs, teddy x-rays, teddy physio sessions, teddy music therapy, teddy toothbrushing courses and much, much more, each teddy is able to have a top-to-toe check-up at the Teddy Bear Hospital!

We have a few surprises up our sleeves too! Come along and see!

A guide to the tickets:

Tickets: 30 minute arrival window but subsequently unlimited time inside the hospital to allow all teddies to have a top-to-toe check-up.

Location: Teddy Bear Hospital will be located inside the convention centre. Please enter via the entrance opposite Polly Woodside or via the Exhibition Centre hallway.

First arrival is at 10:00am. Last entry will be at 4:30pm and the Teddy Bear Hospital will be closing at 6:00pm.

*At the Teddy Bear Hospital, we recognise the need for environments that are appropriate for children with alternative sensory-needs. Regardless of your ticket times, you will have access to our Special Sensory Room located on Lvl 2 of our Hospital.

Don't have a teddy? Don't worry - bring any toy along! We will be selling teddies on the day with all proceeds going to the Good Friday Appeal. In addition, this year, Build-a-Bear will be selling special BAB bears on the day!

Frequently asked questions

What age group is the Teddy Bear Hospital suitable for?

Any ages are welcome at the Teddy Bear Hospital! Our volunteers can adjust their teddy consultations to match your child or teenager (or even adult!)

How many family members / guardians can come with each child?

Due to space limitations, we ask that only one parent / guardian comes with each child. Other parents can follow along from the outside of the hospital setup (which is great for taking photos!). Please note that each child MUST be supervised by an adult.

Can I buy tickets at the event as a walk-in?

Walk-in tickets will be available subject to availability. You may be asked to come back at a later time if the hospital is full.

What if I don't have a teddy?

Any kind or type toys are appropriate, including but not limited to bunnies, dinos, sharks, superheros, Legos... We also sell and lend out toys on the day if you need!

Will there be anywhere to park a pram?

We do not have allocated space for pram parking and request that you please bring your pram and belongings with you through the hospital.

What if I cannot make the time I booked anymore?

Please email us at tbh.melb@gmail.com. We can change the time of your ticket (subject to availability in your new requested time slot). If you cannot make it all anymore, refunds can also be requested.

How long does it take to go through the hospital?

Your ticket will allow you unlimited time in the hospital, however we expect it to take about 1-2hrs in total depending on waiting times and how long you wish to spend at each station.

What can I do to support the Good Friday Appeal further?

Thank you so much for your generous support! Please visit https://www.goodfridayappeal.com.au/ for further events and initiatives to contribute to :)

How do I enter the Teddy Bear Hospital?

The hospital will be in Foyer 3 of the Convention Centre, accessed via the building entrance opposite Polly Woodside, or via the Exhibition Centre hallway. Please look for the big red arch! Ticket holders can proceed straight to the arch, but a shop selling tickets and toys will also be available.
