The 38th Joint Conference

The theme of the 38th Joint Conference is:

Australia and Taiwan – Building a Secure and Sustainable Future

We are pleased to announce that the 38th Joint Conference will be hosted by the Republic of China-Australia Business Council (ROCABC), under the new leadership of its Chairman, Mr Chien-Chih Hwang, who also serves as Chairman of China Steel Corporation (CSC).

The Conference will focus predominantly on business opportunities in four industry sectors:

  • Critical Technologies

Taiwan delegates will include senior people from these sectors.

A pre-conference session will begin with the Track II Dialogue of the Australia-Taiwan Young Business Leaders Program (YBL), a new initiative will be launched in June by the Australia-Taiwan Business Council (ATBC) to nurture the next generation of business leaders. This session will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday, 20 August 2025, at the Australian Office in Taipei.

Later that evening, the ROCABC will host its welcoming business dinner for delegates to the Conference, which will include key business and public sector leaders from both Taiwan and Australia, who share interests in the growth and strengthening of Australia-Taiwan relations.

In the evening of 21 August, the Australia-Taiwan Business Council (ATBC) will host the farewell dinner for delegates and other distinguished dignitaries.

The Conference plenary session will be held on the morning of 21 August 2025. It will be formally opened by distinguished political leaders from Australia and Taiwan. Key speakers will include prominent business figures who play a pivotal role in Australia-Taiwan trade and investment, alongside senior representatives from both the Taiwanese and Australian governments.
