Join us for an immersive workshop on Filipino Martial Arts (Eskrima-Kali-Arnis), focusing on the Art of Filipino Knife-Fighting.

Filipino Martial Arts are renowned for the mastery of edged weapons, and this session will introduce participants to the core principles, movements, and strategies of Filipino knife combat.

This hands-on workshop will explore the fundamentals of knife-fighting that have been passed down through generations of Filipino warriors.

Whether you're a beginner or experienced martial artist, this workshop offers valuable insights into close-quarter combat, blending practicality with tradition.

Come discover the efficiency of Filipino knife-fighting and integrate weapons training into your existing skillset!


What you will learn at this Workshop:

✅ Introduction to the philosophy of Filipino Knife-Fighting

✅ Knife grips

✅ Different types of knife attacks

✅ Angles of attack

✅ Knife vs. knife sparring drills

✅ Creating openings by feinting (faking) to draw a particular reaction from the opponent

✅ Flow drills to apply the techniques in real-time, improving your reflexes, coordination and decision-making under pressure

✅ Knife-sparring (controlled, light-contact)


Who the Workshop is for:

This Workshop is suitable for beginners, martial artists, martial arts instructors, and stunt actors who love weapons training, and are keen to integrate weapons into their existing skillset in a fun, friendly, safe yet exciting training environment!


What to bring:

  • Training knives, if you have any
  • Mouthguard and safety glasses, if you have them
  • Water & snacks


What to wear: Comfortable sports wear

The minimum age for participants is 18 years.

Places are limited, as we have a limited number of foam training knives, designed especially for knife-sparring.

Your Instructor - Kacey Chong

Kacey’s journey in martial arts began at age 5 when she was introduced to martial arts by her father. Born in Malaysia and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Kacey has a diverse background in martial arts, combat sport, combatives and personal protection, bringing a wealth of knowledge and insight to her role as an instructor. 

Her training encompasses a wide array of disciplines, including sport and traditional TaeKwonDo, Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Filipino Martial Arts (Eskrima-Kali-Arnis), Silat, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do Concepts, providing her students with a comprehensive understanding of both armed and unarmed combat.

She has taught members of the military and police force, as well as prison officers and security personnel; trained, coached and mentored martial arts competitors and combat sport fighters; delivered specialist programs for corporate groups, women’s groups and sporting groups; officiated at martial arts tournaments; and served as the Victorian State Technical Director of the largest martial arts tournament in Australia (National All Styles Championships), providing training and support for judges and referees at the tournament.

Beyond the mat, Kacey is passionate about empowering women and vulnerable populations with the knowledge, skills and confidence to protect themselves. Through private training, workshops and courses, she strives to make self-defence education accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or experience.

With over three decades of expertise under her belt, Kacey continues to be a driving force in the world of martial arts, inspiring and empowering people through martial arts excellence.
