About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

We are thrilled to invite you to a special evening with the acclaimed author, Hugh Jones. With over 30 years of experience as a journalist in both Australia and the UK, followed by a career in strategic communications, Hugh Jones brings a wealth of knowledge and storytelling prowess to his writing.

During his time with News Corporation, he edited several newspaper anthologies, including The Bible of the Bush to celebrate 125 years of The Weekly Times newspaper. His latest book, Two Good Soldiers, One Great War, will be available for purchase on the night. This compelling narrative, pieced together from long-lost letters sent home by Australian soldiers at Gallipoli and on the Western Front, tells the remarkable story of friendship between two men separated by half a world during the First World War.

Engaging Book Reading: Experience a captivating reading from Two Good Soldiers, One Great War. Hugh Jones will bring to life the poignant letters and the extraordinary bond between two soldiers, offering a glimpse into the realities of war and the enduring power of friendship.

Insightful Q&A Session: Have burning questions about the book, the writing process, or the inspiration behind the characters? Now’s your chance to ask! Participate in an interactive Q&A session and gain unique insights from Hugh Jones.

Personalized Book Signing: Bring your copy of Two Good Soldiers, One Great War or purchase one at the event and get it signed by Hugh Jones. A personalized autograph makes for a treasured keepsake or a perfect gift for a fellow history or literature enthusiast.
