The Big 80's Party is back! Join us in the heart of Brisbane City at Victoria Park (Event Entry on Gilchrist Ave) on Saturday the 12th of October 2024, from 2:30 pm to 9 pm, for a whirlwind day of 80's nostalgia, dance-floor magic and non-stop entertainment!

Be entertained by an outstanding lineup of RETRO 80’s DJs, MCs, and the sensational Big Party Band, who will be bringing the best of the 80's music to life. Then sing-along to the BIGGEST 80’s Mass-Karaoke Party for a totally awesome nostalgic journey through the decade.

Dress Code?

Can I bring a chair or picnic blanket?

Yes, please feel free to bring something to sit on (either a chair or picnic blanket). Seats are provided in the VIP area.

What is the "VIP Area"?

If you want to be up close and personal to the stage this is the ticket for you!

Tables and chairs are provided in the area, this area is only accessible by wristband. Seats are not assigned and are allocated on a first come basis. This area has access to the upfront dance floor. Access to private toilets. VIP ONLY service line at the main bar.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We recommend the use of taxi/ride share or public transport for this venue. There will be a drop off point on Gilchrist Ave for this purpose.

There is limited on street parking surrounding Victoria Park, however there are paid car parks a short distance from the venue. Please see all parking options HERE, by searching: Gilchrist Ave, Herston QLD.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Herston Busway Station is located only a short walk from Victoria Park with buses 66, 330, 333 and 340 stopping regularly, collecting passengers from north to south and passing through the Brisbane CBD. For more information visit translink.com.au.

The closest railway station is approximately 25 minutes’ walk. To visit Victoria Park by train we suggest disembarking at Bowen Hills, Roma St or Fortitude Valley railway stations then take a taxi or bus to Herston Rd. For more information visit translink.com.au to plan your journey.

Can I use a companion card?

Holders of a valid Companion Card may request a companion ticket to attend the event. Please purchase the ticket for the companion card holder and apply by emailing info@thebigparty.com.au with a copy of the ticket purchased and a photo of the valid companion card.

Companion tickets are only offered for standard Event Tickets, there is an option to upgrade the standard ticket for VIP at an additional cost.

I can no longer attend the event, what can I do?

As per the terms and conditions of purchase, refunds are not honored if you can no longer attend the event. Tickets are transferable so you can give them to family/friends, or feel free to sell through our trusted on-sell partner “TIXEL”. Be aware that SCAMMERS resell tickets over and over, please only buy from a trusted source.

What should I bring to prepare for the BEST DAY EVER?

*A chair or picnic rug. Seats are provided with the VIP tickets.

*A clear sealed or empty plastic bottled water (still or sparkling) up to 1.5L in size. There will be free drinking water to keep you hydrated at the event.

*A soft cooler bag with ice, if you plan on drinking bottle wine! Soft cooler bags up to supermarket size only, no hard/large cooler boxes allowed.

*Your event ticket, either printed or shown on your phone at event entry.

*Sunscreen and a hat, poncho and a raincoat- This is an outdoor event, and there are limited undercover areas!

*It will cool off when the sun goes down, so please come prepared with a jacket, as there are NO PASS OUTS once you have entered the event.

*Please come decked out in the most outrageous 80’s fancy dress you can find! Can't wait to see your costumes! And also a chance to join THE BEST DRESSED COMP!!!

What are prohibited items?

*Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Including juice, soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks etc

*Metal cutlery, including cheese knives

*Sunshades, trolleys, tents and tables

*Umbrellas

*Glass, including wine glasses

*Pets (other than guide dogs)

*Beanbags, blow-up air chairs or lounges

*No hard cooler boxes....Soft cooler bags up to supermarket size only (26L)! There will be a security check at the Entry Gate and prohibited items will be confiscated.

If you are found bringing alcohol/drugs into the event, you will be refused entry and your ticket VOID.

Can I bring Food and Drinks into the event?

There is strictly NO BYO ALCOHOL into the event. This is a licensed event and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages can be purchased from the bar for the duration of the event. All non-alcoholic drinks including juice, soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks are also prohibited to enter the event (the only exception is sealed or empty plastic bottled water up to 1.5L)

Limited BYO food is allowed to a maximum 26L soft-sided cooler bag (supermarket size). There will also be food vendors on site, providing a range of delicious options including vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan.
