Whether you're an experienced maker or just love to tinker, this is your chance to design a unique, non-edible gingerbread house for a town-wide display competition.
Use any materials you like—from cardboard and old books to recycled items—and create a whimsical, non-perishable masterpiece that will be featured in shop windows across town. We will provide an array of materials but feel free to bring some decorations or your own items to add to the free materials.
Submit your intention to enter your Gingerbread House in the competition to events@devonport.tas.gov.au with your name, email, contact phone number and age (if you are under 18) by Monday, 28 October (houses don’t need to be completed until Monday, 18 November).
Be part of a festive community event that celebrates handmade artistry. All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate, with categories for Favourite, Most Creative, and Most Unusual Material.
Guidelines:
- Houses should be between 30cm and 100cm in width.
- All materials should be durable, non-edible, and safe for public display.
- Decorations must be securely attached.
- Let your imagination run wild—use mixed media, fabric, clay, natural materials (bug-free!), and more!
Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your skills and spread holiday cheer.
