Get that idea out of your head and onto the screen!
Every great film or TV series starts out as a concept inside someone’s brain. For it to come to life, that original idea needs to be developed, expanded and road-tested in a real-world setting. And that’s where the writers room comes in. The Newcastle Writers Room is a weekly masterclass led by AACTA-nominated writer and producer Tristram Baumber, designed to give you hands-on experience in a professional writers room environment and help you gain the skills to jumpstart yourwriting career.
The writers room is where brainstorming, development, and polishing happen. It’s where the magic of screen writing comes to life, as creative minds collaborate to invent compelling and captivating stories. In this masterclass, you’ll participate in a writers room environment to bring your own ideas to life. Tristram will guide you through the process – equally applicable to television, film and theatre writing – from pitching concepts and creating outlines, to writing scripts and honing dialogue.
Tristram will share his expertise on navigating the industry, providing tips and insights on how to get your work noticed and build a successful writing career. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your writing skills to the next level, The Newcastle Writers Room masterclass is the perfect opportunity to grow and thrive as a scriptwriter.
