The Oriental Cat Club of NSW is prowling into the St Ives Showground on Saturday 6th September with their yearly dedicated Cat Show.
Note: All TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE DOOR.
This is a wonderful day out where you can see many of the state's top pedigree breeds of cats including Exotic Persians, large Main Coons, golden-eyed Burmese, floppy Rag Dolls, tiny baby kittens, and slinky Siamese with a special focus on the unique Oriental breed of cat.
The Oriental Shorthair cat is an elegant breed of cat that comes in a beautiful ‘rainbow’ mix of over 300 colour variations. They have a smooth, silky coat lying close to the body and the cat should be well muscled and supple. Orientals have a ‘triangular face’, wide-set ears, and a long tail. Most Orientals have green eyes while the white Orientals can have blue or odd coloured eyes.
Local Breeders will be available to speak to visitors during the day about this and other breeds of cat that will be on display. Formal judging is held in the morning and visitors can watch each of these breeds judged.
This Cat Show features both Interstate and local Judges and some of the top Orientals in the state will compete for the top five placement awards including the overall coveted perpetual trophy: Supreme Oriental in Show.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet with the Exhibitors and Breeders, ask questions and learn about different breeds of cats.
The cost is just: $2 for an adult or $5 for a family.
A ‘cat’ focused raffle will be held on the day plus there is the St Ives Showground market held close by from 10am to 3pm. A feature of the Show will be a 'colouring in' competition for kids with prizes. If your kid(s) would like to take part please request a copy of the picture from: shiloh.siamese@gmail.com
