Central Queensland’s fav indie-rockers The Short Fall & MATH are joining forces to kick off 2025 with a co-headline show, with Brisbane-based Maarjn supporting. The Short Fall & MATH are two of the hardest working bands in regional Queensland; having between them opened for Ball Park Music, Birds of Tokyo, Eskimo Joe, Bliss N Eso, The Rubens, The Screaming Jets & Daryl Braithwaite in the last 18 months, giving audiences a taste of the depth of talent that exists outside the capital city bubble.
Featuring pocket-rocket vocalist Maddi McDonald and trio of talented brothers Clay, Dylan & Sam Hooper, MATH are CQ’s fav pop-rockers, switching between pop anthems, indie-rock bops, and heartfelt melodic ballads. The Short Fall is the alias of Rockhampton based frontman Angelo Conway, who with his 5-piece band walks effortlessly through the realms of alternative, indie & folk rock to create a catalogue of guitar-driven songs laden with vocal harmonies, catchy hooks and a hint of melancholy. Maarjn is the music project of Meanjin/Brisbane based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jon Marsden. Blending acoustic and electronic elements, Maarjn creates an intricate and detailed sonic landscape inspired by a range of alternative influences such Bon Iver, Radiohead, John Martyn and Jeff Buckley.
