Imagine not being able to recall the face of your loved ones after just waving goodbye to them on your way to work. Now imagine what it would be like if you are able to visualise nearly anything with exceptional vividness. Aphantasia and Hyperphantasia are two ends of a spectrum that measure the clarity of visual processing. They are uncommon ways of thinking and are thought to be present in 1 - 5 % of people globally.

In this special edition of Think Visual, we have a panel of esteemed designers who possess these unique ways of thinking, yet they have leveraged their neurodiversity to thrive in their respective areas. The panel includes: Ben Pecotitch from Dynamic4, Josh Bradshaw from PaidRight, and Alan Chen from Sh8peshifters. Moderating the panel is Diana Ayoub from Sh8peshifters.

ABOUT THE PANELLISTS

Ben Pecotich is a designer, coach, and founder of Dynamic4 – a B Corp focused on regenerative leadership and design for happier communities and sustainable business practices. With over 30 years of experience leading strategic change across Asia-Pacific, UK, and Europe, he founded Dynamic4 in 2001, using human-centered design to integrate strategy, design, and technology. Ben is also the author of 'Solve Problems That Matter' and co-founded Sydney Design Thinking.

Josh Bradshaw’s previously led product design teams at Rezdy & Domain Group, and he’s now the Head of Product at PaidRight. Josh describes himself as a father, a designer, a story-teller and a product thinker. His mantra is “design doesn’t belong to designers” and he lives that out through collaboration and facilitation. Josh was also the very first Think Visual! speaker — and we’re excited to have him back.

Alan Chen & Diana Ayoub are the co-founders of Sh8peshifters and the Think Visual meetups. Over the last 10 years, they have supported teams across government, health, tech, education, finance and engineering - helping them to simplify complexity and create meaningful messages. Through visual thinking and human-centered design, they create strategic communication that informs decision-making and transformation. In 2024, they won a Good Design for communication design in publication for the book 'Designing Tomorrow.'
