About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) in learning how to identify and report plant pest and diseases including the exotic pest Polyphagous shot-hole borer (PSHB).

PSHB is a wood-boring invasive beetle that excavates tunnels in trees and can severely damage host species with some dying within two years of infestation. Over 130 host species have been confirmed in Western Australia.

DPIRD will explain how to use their reporting app, MyPestGuide Reporter, to help identify organisms such as animals, plants, viruses or bacteria in your garden. The app allows you to submit photos of these organisms for DPIRD experts to identify.
