About this event

We’ve created a series of virtual interactive workshops to equip you with the essential skills you’ll need to succeed and get the most out of yourself and your Deakin studies!

The THRIVE: Wellbeing and study success sessions have been developed based on identified student needs and established psychological theories, down into practical tips for you to explore. There are two session times available, register for a session today!

Session 6 | THRIVE: Overcoming procrastination

Tuesday, 25 April, 6–7pm or Wednesday, 26 April, 2–3pm

Understand the emotions behind why we procrastinate on tasks and how you can overcome this counterproductive habit. This session will also cover reflective practice and identifying when to ask for support when you need help.

Program objectives

We aim to foster a productive learning environment for students, encourage engagement, and provide transition support.

The objectives of THRIVE are:

  • To foster and build a sense of belonging to make students feel welcome in the Deakin community
  • To support students in establishing their own learning strategies for academic success
  • To build motivation and deepen your desire for learning
  • To develop self-awareness and encourage access to support services when needed
  • To promote student engagement in university activities and events
