We're halfway through 2022, so join us at Tonsley’s main get-together and celebrate the EOFY together!
Tonsley Connections, held quarterly, is a wonderful opportunity for members of the rapidly growing Tonsley Community to get together and network amongst fellow peers and to get the latest details about what’s next for the Tonsley Innovation District.
Details
We're proud to be partnering with BAE Systems Australia for this event. BAE Systems Australia joined Tonsley recently so this event is dedicated to welcome them. Hear from Continuous Naval Shipbuilding (CNS) Strategy Director Sharon Wilson about BAE Systems Australia and what made Tonsley a strategic fit for them.
In the lead up to NAIDOC Week (3 - 10 July), as a majority-owned Indigenous company, Tonsley-based Rainy Day Recruitment is proud to invite Corey Turner from Southern Cultural Immersion to conduct a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony at the event. Corey is a Kaurna man living on Kaurna Yerta in Adelaide. The Smoking Ceremony is a gift from the Kaurna people that has cleansing properties and the ability to ward off bad spirits and make pathway for a brighter future.
This will be followed by the opportunity to take part in networking, while enjoying some light refreshments. Event starts at 5pm and concludes at 7pm. Warm clothing is recommended as the event is held in the iconic MAB, exposed to outside temperatures - as much as we will have some heaters in place.
Line Zero - Factory of the Future tour
But wait...there is more: Don't miss your exclusive chance to tour Line Zero - Factory of the Future, thanks to BAE Systems Australia and Flinders University. Starting at 4:00pm, this one-hour, guided tour will give attendees a deeper look into the initiative which is advancing manufacturing capabilities and industrial processes for major defence and naval shipbuilding programs. Please note:
Tour numbers are strictly limited. Please add-on the tour ticket to your Tonsley Connections registration in order to attend. Specifically for the tour, BAE Systems Australia requests to wear enclosed shoes and an evidence of vaccination.
See you there
We are excited to continue to bring you Tonsley Connections as it gives people a chance to come together and connect. Building and strengthening these relationships between our community is an integral mandate for the Tonsley Innovation District.
Registration through Eventbrite is essential. This will assist us with catering and venue set up, plus managing tour numbers.
Please note: Tonsley Connections is an event exclusive to the members of the Tonsley community. That is, people who work, study or live at Tonsley or are key stakeholders of the innovation district.
