About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Touch Drawing® is an art process developed by Deborah Kaff-Chapin. It is the process and the inner awareness and felt sense that arrives with the image making that is emphasised, not the end product. The drawing tools are your hands so there is direct contact with the image making through monoprints.

In the workshop you will: watch a video of Deborah explaining the process, view images made in the touch drawing process by looking at the Soul Cards decks, have a demonstration of the process, engage in a short meditation, and make a series of your own touch drawings. During this time music will be on low volume without chit chat inviting time to connect to yourself and to be in creative flow. The workshop gives you an introduction to the process and materials, as some people choose to continue with touch drawing as a personal practice at home. At the end of the workshop you will be confident using techniques, know equipment to use and where to purchase.

At the end of the workshop you will:

  • Be confident to continue your Touch Drawing practice
  • Be knowledgeable about materials required
  • Understand the process and mark making
  • Experiment using a few different types of paper
  • Complete a series of drawings

We will gather in a closing circle with time for reflection, sharing and witnessing over a cuppa with light snacks provided.

All art materials are provided. You are welcome to bring your own journal. No prior art experience is required.

(I have limited ticket option inclusive for both the workshop and starter art kit. If you choose the art kit you will have your own art materials to continue the practice at home. This is often requested by participants so I have gathered supplies for you. The starter art kit includes: printmaking roller, A4 art board, paints, paint spatula, paper.)
