Health and safety information

Breathwork results in specific physiological changes in the body and can lead to intense physical and emotional release.

As a precaution, the following conditions are contraindicated in conscious connected breathwork practices:

  • Pregnancy
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Detached retina or glaucoma
  • Brain or abdomen aneurysm
  • Epilepsy
  • Uncontrolled diabetes or thyroid conditions
  • Bipolar disorder or schizophrenia

If a contraindication applies, participation requires medical approval.

I advise you not to participate in case of a full stomach, flu, virus, or fever.

Never practice breathwork techniques while driving, operating machinery, or alone in water.

Trauma-informed breathwork

If you are seeking breathwork specifically for trauma release, please let me know so I can provide personalised guidance.

While many turn to breathwork for cathartic emotional release, it’s important to note that trauma experts typically do not recommend this as a primary healing approach. For clients on a trauma healing journey, I recommend conscious breathing practices that prioritise resourcing, gradual emotional processing, and the development of emotional regulation skills, in alignment with trauma-informed principles.
