In a Vala Adventure... Children & Teens play characters in a collaborative tale. Each day is a new Adventure, brought to life by the magic of D&D-style Tabletop Roleplaying with dice and miniatures, and Live Action Role Playing (LARP) with costumery, props and 'boffer' (rubberised) weapons.

From Viking & Native American Myths in the explorative world of Norse America

Monday 13 Jan - Viking America: The Fatal Shore

Set a square sail upon the longship of the Norse Sagas and sail back in time. Back to the days when the same people from whom sprung the Vikings, to carry war, plundering and conquest throughout old Europe and even into Asia, explored the mysterious shores and hinterland of a New World across the Western Ocean. There they traded goods as well as unfortunate blows, with the native peoples. Come relive some of the heady days of the Vikings in North (or Norse) America.

A crew of Viking warriors, merchants and explorers led by Thorvald Eirikson on a quest to explore the mysterious and uninhabited land first sighted by his father Eirik the Red are left rudderless and reeling by a string of disasters upon catching sight of the place Eirik named ‘Vinland’. They must fall back on their wits and instincts and think on their feet to face the challenges of this new world of rolling meadows and wild vines if they hope to survive their landing on the Fatal Shore!

To Spellcraft and Mystery in Vala's own Academy of Magic

Thursday 23 Jan - Vala Academy of Magic: Phoenix from the Ashes

Even more secret than Vala’s famous Knight School, is the mysterious Vala Academy of Magic. Up until now it has remained only a legend, spoken of in whispered tones by students of Knight School who have happened upon a glimpse of ‘Merlin’s Mirror’ in the subterranean depths beneath the school.

But now, with the names of its ancient Wizard Chiefs having been uttered out loud at the opening ceremony of the recent Knights Tournament, the Wyrding Way has been opened for the revival of the Academy of Magic. Not on distant shores like of old in Wales or Cornwall, but in Australia, the great southern land, itself; like the Phoenix from the ashes, rises the new Merlin from the depths, and the owl call goes out to all who have the ears to hear it-

“Come Enchanters, Come Wizards, Come Magicians… the Academy of Magic is ready for its first influx of students in 500 years!”

The daily schedule is represented by the different 'Tickets' when you click 'Reserve a spot'. Each day requires a separate reservation/ticket.

Schedule: The Vala Super Summer Vacation will run for three weeks from Monday 13th of January - Friday 30th of January.

Doors open each day 8:30 for a 9am start. Class finishes at 5:00 - 5:30, doors close 6:00pm

Healthy morning & afternoon teas are provided.

Please BYO lunch, hat, water bottle & weather suitable clothes.
