About this event

Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to an in-person Critical Infrastructure Workshop for executives and security and risk management professionals of private and public sectors of Victoria and Tasmania.

This event follows a similar highly successful in-person events that Providence delivered in 2023 in South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory attended by over fifty private and public sector participants.

This invitation-only workshop will be hosted by Providence Consulting Group (Providence) on 18 April 2024 in CBD, Melbourne. Exact location to be announced closer to the event.

The aim of the workshop will be to:

  • overview the threat environment specific to Victoria and Tasmania
  • explore risk management and the role of governance aligned to defensible decision making
  • provide advice on how to achieve the minimum level of compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (SOCI Act) and subordinate Rules, including obligations the SOCI Act sets for Boards of critical infrastructure entities
  • share tips on building and maintaining a cost-effective Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program and developing an incremental pathway to security maturity growth
  • provide advice on how to establish a well-balanced Insider Threat Program to enable employee wellbeing and promote a more productive, engaged, connected, and committed workforce
  • discuss the Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program assurance options for the Board-approved annual report
  • introduce early detection capability to mitigate threats to your critical infrastructure assets using open-source intelligence (OSINT).

Noting the current geostrategic uncertainty, increasing threats and growing need for national resilience, the effective security of critical infrastructure is of significant national importance.

Providence is committed to broadening awareness of, and deepening knowledge of, this critical area of national security so will be hosting this activity at no cost.

A detailed agenda will be provided closer to the date. The event will be held in accordance with the Chatham House Rule.

We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
