Work on the Environment Effects Statement (EES) for the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal project is progressing.
As part of this process, Port of Hastings Corporation is undertaking extensive technical studies including field surveys and investigations, along with community and Traditional Owner consultation.

About the project:
The Port of Hastings has been selected by the Victorian Government as the preferred location for the establishment of the Victorian Renewable Energy Terminal.
The Victorian Government has identified the Terminal as critical to supporting the state’s ambitious offshore wind generation targets and achieving net zero emissions by 2045.
No port in Victoria can currently accommodate the size and weight of the large offshore wind components, so specialised port infrastructure is required.
The Terminal is proposed at the Old Tyabb Reclamation Area (OTRA), and the adjacent marine waters within the port precinct.
The Port of Hastings has many attributes that make it an ideal location for an offshore wind assembly port, including large areas of appropriately zoned land, close to deep water channels and proximity to proposed offshore wind farms off the Gippsland and Southern Ocean region coasts.
The Terminal will receive, store, and assemble offshore wind components before they are transported to offshore wind farms off the Victorian coast for installation.
