Dive deep into the world of video editing with DaVinci Resolve! Uncover the secrets of professional editing, colour grading, and visual effects in our 4-week hands-on course and improve your visual storytelling skills.

Join writer and filmmaker Paige Webster to discover the power of this industry-leading platform for video editing that is free to download and use on your personal computer.

Over four weeks, you will learn the basics of assembling on the timeline and important file management workflows before delving into colour grading and visual effects and delivering the final product.

Session dates: Tuesday Evenings 5.30pm-7.30pm 4, 11, 18, 25 February

Age: 16+

Equipment: Computers are available for use in the Media Lab. If you would prefer to work from your own device we encourage you to do so. Please selected BYOD ticket type and download and install Davinci Resolve (free version) on your PC.


Spaces are limited so bookings are essential.

Please note, this course is a four-week commitment so please ensure you can attend all sessions before booking.

Terms and conditions:

  • For participants under the age of 16, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.
  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.
  • If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
  • The library does not endorse or promote any products which may be used in the workshop.
